Parent & Me GymnasticsMove Together from 18 Months to Age 3

Gymnastics for 2 year olds begins here: a coach-led class where you and your child move, play, and learn together. Children learn to do each activity on their own, with you right beside them.

The goal of Parent & Me

Your child learns to do each activity on their own, with you beside them.

It is the first step toward Toddler Gymnastics, where children join the class on their own.

What do I do in class?

You join in. At age 2, a parent or caregiver joins every activity on the floor. Together you sing, dance, help at the stations, and stretch. The coach leads every part.

In our mommy and me classes, a parent or caregiver joins each child on the gym floor: one adult per child. Boys and girls welcome. Family members who come along can watch from our waiting area.

Every child is different. Some jump right in, some watch first. Give your child time, and the coach helps you both.

Shoes

  • No shoes on the carpet. Shoes go in the cubby.
  • Socks on the carpet, for you and your child.
  • Leaving the carpet? Shoes on. Back? Shoes off again.

Children sit and roll on this carpet, so this helps keep it clean for everyone.

What happens in the free first Parent & Me class

Our mommy and me gymnastics classes for 2 year olds run about 55 minutes, led by a coach, in five parts:

  1. Free play

About 14 minutes to explore the Blue Gym together and settle in.

  2. Circle time

    10 minutes: a warm-up and two songs.

  3. Moving and balance

About 5 minutes of short games together.

  4. Two stations

20 minutes at two stations. You help your child, and each child gets more than one turn.

  5. Stretch together

5 minutes: a calm stretch to close the class.

Stations change every two weeks.

Before class

  • Comfortable clothes you can move in, for you and your child
  • Socks on the carpet, for you too
  • A parent signs our waiver once, while we set up the free class

After class

Ask the coach how it went. You can ask after any class, and we are glad to answer. Then decide when you are ready.

Made for little movers

  • Soft floor and matsClass happens on a soft carpet and mats in our Blue Gym.
  • You are right thereIn gymnastics for two year olds, your child moves with you and tries each new thing at their own pace.
  • Songs and circlesClass opens with songs in a circle and ends with a calm stretch, so children learn the class rhythm.
