Achieve Peace of Mind and Improve Your Child’s Well Being
According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, America’s youth obesity and risk factors for heart disease, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes increase every year.
Our increasingly sedentary lifestyles tend to keep us on the couch and off our feet to an unhealthy degree. Study after study links physical activity to lower the risk of chronic health conditions.
Exercise strengthens the heart, lungs, ligaments, nervous system, and immune system. Studies also consistently link physical activity to mental health, improving cognition, processing speed, attention, and academic performance. With the body and mind building, depression symptoms decrease in people who stay active.
As parents, we have to opportunity to help establish life-long, healthy habits in our children. Consistent physical activity in early childhood establishes a foundation for a lifetime of health and wellbeing, according to DDHS. We don’t have to wait until they become “old enough.” Kids are old enough to move when they start moving.

Recommended Activities for Toddlers
Generally, the nature of toddlers keeps them moving throughout the day as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends. The movement to strengthen bones and muscles while working the cardiovascular system gives 3-5 year olds the full benefit of the physical activity.
Muscles strengthen through movements like climbing or any resistance movement. Hopping, skipping, jumping, and tumbling strengthen bones. Besides running, any of these activities elevate the heart for an extended amount of time helps build cardiovascular endurance.
Because of children’s exercise needs, the CDC recommends gymnastics for kids, among other activity methods. Gymnastics uses body-weight resistance and flexibility to improve the strength of bones and muscles and cardiovascular endurance.
While your toddler may spend her days in constant motion, the CDC and others recommend varied movements for overall physical health. Gymnastics classes for kids help children move in purposeful ways they wouldn’t experience on their own.

How Toddler Gymnastics Works
We dedicate one-third of our expansive, 15,000 square-foot facility to toddler and beginner gymnastics. Our professionally staffed and equipped facility provides the atmosphere kids need to succeed and grow athletically and intellectually.
Our experienced coaches teach basic gymnastics through games for young children. These games encourage toddlers to communicate effectively with classmates and their coach.
With the typical class size of 8 to 10 students, the one-hour class teaches children to follow directions through fun, engaging activities. Children learn the value of discipline without overbearing, authoritative strategies.
Toddler classes also encourage independence. We request parents to watch their toddlers from one of our two observation windows or the television screens in the reception area. This distance provides kids the safety of knowing parents are close while establishing independence.
We include many of the CDC-recommended methods of activity. Since experts recommend weight training begin during adolescence, the movements kids use in gymnastics gives them balance, control, and agility using their little more than their body weight.
Our training also encourages improved reflexes, agility, endurance, and coordination. Gymnastics skills improve flexibility as well as motor and locomotive skills. Your child will tone all muscle groups and experience a better appetite with improved sleep habits as well. Gymnastics movements also help to prevent flat feet while improving posture.
Motor intelligence aids in unlocking intellectual potential as the first type of intellect. Toddlers involved in gymnastics classes develop motor intellect quicker, preparing them for entering K-12 environments.
People tend to overlook the mental benefits that come along with the focused physical activity. Improved confidence makes way for logical thinking and curiosity, which spurs creative thinking.

We all understand the massive effort involved in day-to-day living life. Healthy habits make that effort much more accessible with improved sleep, eating, and mood. We need to ensure our children get every opportunity to develop the tools they need to handle the stresses life presents.
